Nigerians are consuming more sugar than ever before.

We all know this is bad for our waistlines, but it's far worse than that. Sugar is actually related to a variety of health issues, including diabetes and heart disease, along with obesity.

This is especially bad because sugar is hidden in many processed foods.

Many foods labelled "fat free" are actually quite high in sugar. This causes people to eat much more sugar than they realize.

While this study focused only on children, the researchers are confident these results would be similar in adults.

These results over such a short period of time should give everyone pause. Pay close attention to how much sugar you're consuming and try to cut down. You'll probably be surprised at how difficult this can be!

Cutting down on sugar might be the key to living a long, healthy life.

A sweet treat is fine once in a while, but try to limit the amount you eat. Your body will thank you for it!
